We are not trying to reinvent the wheel. We are not trying to radically change the Learning Management space or become the next Coursera or Udemy.

Instead, we want to leverage these tools and give a few suggestions of content to look at to learn enough to complete a task (we call this a Hackathon). But just enough to be dangerous, enough knowledge to apply your mind and deliver.

This approach means that we will sometimes point you to different courses outside our platform and expect you to complete a few courses and show that completion in our system.

But I already know X. Do I still have to do that part?

The goal is not to limit you but to expose you to the content, to ensure that everyone is at a similar level, knows enough, and can use a consistent set of language, acronyms and tools. However, not everyone starts at the same point, so if you mark something as complete to allow you to get to a Hackathon you want to take, there is nothing wrong with that!

Unfortunately, to ensure consistency, we will enforce that those courses are complete as prerequisites to allow access to certain Hackathons, but because they point to external courses, marking them as complete should be quick and easy!

But there is a Quiz I need to finish to complete the prerequisite

If there is a quiz to complete a Hackathon, but you didn’t do the course because you are confident you know the content, then please blaze through them and show us we speak the same language.

If the quiz asks for a screenshot or upload from the external course content, but you did not take it, please feel free to upload a declaration of “I believe I know this content and did not take the course”, which should allow you to continue through the course, we don’t want to hold you back, rather we want to make sure that you have actively and intentionally made a choice!

Good luck and welcome to the DnA-Hacker Guild
