How to create a successful product in a Hackathon:

1) Design a product/tool that you would buy/use yourself

The key to creating a successful product has the right product-market fit. Having the right product will allow you to build a loyal following. Having the right understanding of your target market will allow you to make a product that people will use.

3) Validate your idea(s) & concepts

A hackathon is a great venue to test and validate your ideas. Gather feedback from multiple people, such as your teammates, mentors, and companies, to see if your product could solve their problem. Having the right feedback will allow you to know that your idea is on track.

4) Don’t be frightened to try/commit to an idea

If you are not 100% confident in the outcome of your idea, try and build a simple prototypee. Even if you are not 100% sure that it will turn out great, don’t be afraid to give it a try. You might even be working on a that is worth a billion dollars.

Before you start working on a project/idea, you must identify your product’s various limitations and opportunities.
